The Meet-Cute Project by Rhiannon Richardson

This book was part of Simon Teen's free downloads for February and I though it looked super cute, so I put it aside! While it obviously took me a while to get to it, I found it to be the perfect palette cleanser after DNFing my previous read.

The story follows main character and high school junior Mia who winds up desperately needing a date to her sister's wedding. Her group of girlfriends, all huge rom-com fans, decide to each plan a "meet-cute" for her to help her meet some mostly well-vetted bachelors in a very inorganic, organic way.

While things don't exactly work out to plan and Mia runs into some bumps along the way, it all works out in the end.

This was a cute book that made me laugh and had some great morals. While I found it to be pretty obviously predictable (which is bad for me, since I am usually oblivious lol) I still had a good time reading it and soared through it quickly!

It was a bit young for me personally, but I'd recommend it if you are into YA romance with high school age, romantically immature characters. There was a lot of great side stories to the main meet-cute topic like family dynamics, trying to figure out who you are and learning to be yourself in romantic situations!

I gave it three and half stars, mostly because it was really predictable and I found myself groaning at Mia's decisions a lot. But I did really enjoy it overall!
